Linda D. Francis, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in General Psychiatry, with added ABPN qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry. Her clinical expertise derives from over 20 years of experience treating adult psychiatric patients in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, psychiatric hospitals, general hospitals, nursing homes, detoxification units and prisons.
In addition, Dr. Francis has special training and expertise in Forensic Psychiatry, the area of psychiatric medicine which interfaces with civil, criminal, and administrative law. Her written evaluations are utilized by courts, and she is qualified to testify in person as an expert medical witness in civil and criminal legal proceedings.
Dr. Francis completed her medical degree at SUNY Buffalo in 1991, her residency training at the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital in 1995, and a post-graduate fellowship in Psychiatry and Law at the University of California, San Francisco (Langley Porter Institute) in 2002. She remains active in clinical teaching and has lectured extensively on topics in clinical and forensic psychiatry. Her contact information is below, and a CV is available upon request.
